The register's largest year is its first
On the copy of the UP-RERA register held on this mirror, read on 10 October 2026, there are 974 projects. 973 of them carry Gautam Buddha Nagar as the district, which covers Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway, and one row has no district recorded. Of those 974, 604 carry a registration date in 2017. Set the one count against the other and 604 of 974 is 62.0 percent of the file. No other single year comes close: the next largest is 2025 with 62 registrations, then 2019 with 55 and 2018 with 53.
On this one field, most of the file falls in a single year near the start. That has a plain cause in how the register came to exist, and it is worth knowing before you read a registration date as more than the day an entry was made. Every count here comes from this mirror of the register. Any single project can be checked on up-rera.in.
Why the first year holds the most registrations
UP-RERA commenced in 2017. The law required projects already under way at that point to register, not only projects starting afterwards.
Separately from the date, the register records whether a project was entered as Ongoing or as New. Across the 974 projects on this mirror that field reads Ongoing on 557, New on 409, and is not recorded on 8. The mirror does not pair that field with the year of registration, so the split cannot be read as a count of what was entered in any one year. Registration is a lawful filing requirement being met, and nothing further should be read into the date on its own.
A 2017 registration date tells you when the project entered the register
This is the practical point, and it is the one most worth carrying away. A registration date records the day a project was entered on the register, and that is all it records. It is not a start date and it is not a completion date. Two projects can carry the same registration month and be unalike in every other field on the file.
The dates that speak to timing are kept in different fields. At registration a promoter states a proposed build period, and separately the register carries a declared completion date, which is exactly what its name says: a date declared to the regulator, not a guarantee and not a possession date. That date can be extended by a later filing, and what an extension actually is is a separate question from when the project was registered. For progress as the promoter reports it quarter by quarter, read the quarterly progress report, and for the dates themselves see the completion dates listing.
The years after 2017, one by one
Here is the full series as the mirror holds it. 2017: 604. 2018: 53. 2019: 55. 2020: 14. 2021: 35. 2022: 28. 2023: 30. 2024: 51. 2025: 62. 2026: 42. The 2026 figure is a part year, because the read is dated 10 October 2026, and anything registered after that day is not on this copy.
Read the series as counts of filings and nothing more. A year with many registrations tells you that many entries were made in that year, and a year with few tells you that few were made. This field carries the date of the entry and nothing else, so the series cannot be read as a measure of anything but filings.
What to do with a registration date when you are checking a project
Start by confirming the project is on the register at all: see how to check a registration or the longer walkthrough on verifying a project in ten minutes. Then look past the registration date to the documents filed under the project, because that is where the detail sits. Across the 974 projects the mirror holds 22,986 document rows, 957 projects carry at least one document and 17 carry none. Among those 957, the median is 21 documents. What those documents mean is worth a read before you ask for any of them.
You can look a project up by name on the projects search, and if you want to see what else the same name has filed, the promoters listing groups the register by promoter name. The mirror holds 484 distinct promoter names across the 974 projects.
This page is a mirror, and up-rera.in is the record
Everything above comes from a copy of the register read on 10 October 2026. It is a mirror kept for reading and searching, and it is not the record. On that read, 973 of the 974 rows carried Gautam Buddha Nagar as the district and one row had no district recorded. Figures change as filings are made, so treat any number here as dated to 10 October 2026 and check the project itself on up-rera.in before you rely on it.
If the portal is unfamiliar, a plain guide to the portal covers where each field lives. For how the three corridors of this district differ on the register's own fields, see what the register shows across Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway.
